Resorces Available to MetaARP on SDF
https://aNONradio.net
Anyone can DJ. The minimum time slot is 30 minutes once a week. Recently,
The Strokes producer Gordon Raphael joined aNONradio and now does a weekly
hour long show. Scheduled DJs also get their shows archived and are available
online. For DJs that don't want to stream live, there is a new podcaster
mechanism to schedule a pre-recorded show. You are welcome to join in as
a DJ if you have an ideas for a show you'd like to do, or, just listen!

SDF hosts its own GIT repo and is open to all members who would like to
have a place to share public or private code repositories. It is very
much the look and feel of github. It has an open sign up.

This uses the federated Peertube frame work for content creators to post
videos. Think of it as open source youtube without being youtube.

This is a new framework we just recently moved out of beta with. It is
an open source tumblr/flickr/instagram style site. It has an open sign up.
https://mastodon.sdf.org
If you haven't heard of Mastodon yet, it has really taken off. It is designed
as a federated microblogging site a la de-centralized twitter. It also has
some features that give it some Facebook features and it works well with
other federated systems like Pixelfed and Peertube. It has an open sign up.

Are you an Amateur Radio Operator? Did you know that SDF has an Amateur Radio
Club that meets weekly on EchoLink NODE 9229 at 0000 UTC (Mondays). If you've
ever been curious about amateur radio you can listen to this NET live on
aNONradio.net. Of course, if you're a HAM you're welcome to connect to the
NODE and give a check in. We are also looking for NET Control operators to
add to our NC rotation. Let us know if you're interested!

We're on MetaArray IV now. THe MetaArray is an augmented, stand alone
server just for MetaARPA members. It currently features a large disk array
with a net 44TB of storage online. Probably the most interesting feature
of the MetaArray is the NextCloud instance. NextCloud allows you to share
files publically and privately, sync to mobile and desktop devices as well
as run Apps for content streaming and work productivity. If you have not
setup your account on the MetaArray, just run the 'metaarray' command from
tty.sdf.org.
Usnet
teddit.sdf.org:
recently available to beta testers, it is now available to
all MetaARPA. teddit is an alternative, java-script free
front end to the popular Reddit website which encourages
private browsing.
ttrss.sdf.org:
ttrss or Tiny Tiny Really Simple Syndication is an RSS/RDF
aggregator interface which allows you to manage various site
RSS feeds. Both the teddit and ttrss servers have recently
received a major upgrade which have greatly improved performance.

git.sdf.org:
Git isn't just for code, it can be used for tracking changes in
any archive or repository. SDF uses the GITea content management
system which has many features similar to the commercial GIT
repository services out there. If you are interested, please reply
to request login access.
Other services hosted at SDF which can be considered beta test are:
pixelfed.sdf.org:
A federated social image sharing system which is incorporating new
features by the day. While it is still considered beta, it is quite
useable and a great alternative to instagram and tiktok. If you're
interested in testing, please reply to this message.
matrix.sdf.org:
A federated chat/messaging system - an alternative to Slack, Discord,
Microsoft Teams. While matrix synapse has had a few bumps in getting
going here at SDF, the recent stab at it has made considerable
improvements in stability. The matrix developers frequently push
updates, so it should be considered beta, but getting better. If you
are interested in testing, please reply to this message.
jitsi.sdf.org:
A video conferencing/screen sharing system - an alternative to Zoom,
Microsoft Teams, Facebook, Google hangouts and Snap Chat. Jitsi is
fairly stable software and many members have had good success using it
for group meetups. It does receive frequent updates, but is a great
alternative to commercial services.
